Ryan Newman and Texas Motor Speedway

Well, the next Nextel Cup race is at the Texas Motor Speedway on FOX at 1:30 pm Sunday the 14th of April.

Texas Motor Speedway is located in Forth Worth, Texas. It was completed in 1996 and is a 1.5 Quad-Oval track that seats 159,585. The front stretch is 2,250 ft and the backstretch is 1,330 with 24 degree banking in the turns and 5 degree banking in the straights.

Ryan Newman does not have a great record at Texas Motor Speedway. He has raced here 7 times with 2 poles and 1 win (2003 and he started 3rd). He has 2 40th place finishes and 1 39th finish. Those involved 2 accidents and 1 engine issue. That leaves 3 more races where he placed 25th, 16th and 34th.

Newman has an average finish of 16.9 on intermediate tracks and an average start 7.9. He has 11 wins on intermediate tracks out of 126 races. Out of those he also has 38 top 5's and 54 top 10's.

Newman needs a good finish at Texas. Then maybe he can get his "mo-jo" going for the rest of the season. One bright spot about the team is there pit stops. They have been quick. Last week was some of there slower stops, and they were still fast.

Good luck to Ryan Newman and the #12 Alltel Dodge Team.
