Ryan Newman has rough day at the Samsung 500

Newman and his team can’t seem to get a break. Newman’s point standings remain the same – 20th position. But now he is –480 points behind the leader and –123 out of 12th place. Still, these numbers are not that bad since we are only 7 races into the season. There is plenty of time to get up in points and standings, but Newman and the #12 Alltel Dodge team needs to get in gear.

Newman was also frustrated with pit stops and came over the radio stating that the team was going to be doing pit practices all week next week.

Ryan Newman and the #12 Alltel Dodge NASCAR Nextel Cup Team had an evil hand dealt to them today. It started on lap 1 when Ryan Newman got involved with an accident hitting the back of Yeley. He had nose damage that got taped up but sent him to the back of the field.

He worked his way up as high as 23rd before he hit the wall on lap 113 and cut down a tire. After hitting the wall and pitting he went 3 laps down.

By lap 130 Newman and Rudd were the only ones 3 laps down with Newman in the37th position (leading Rudd). At this point only 18 cars were on the lead lap.

Newman and his team really need to get it together and get some decent finishes and hopefully some wins this season.
