MIS Nextel Cup Race Rain Update

The track is being dried at MIS.  Looking at the radar it looks like they have a pretty good opportunity to get this race underway and maybe get at least 101 laps in to make it official.

There definetly is more rain the area and from looking at the radar it is building and heading in the general area of Brooklyn, MI where they are trying to get the 3M Performance 400 underway.

But, if you are optomistic like I am, I see the radar showing that the rain will go slightly north of Brooklyn.  But I am no meteoroligist.

It has also been confirmed that if NASCAR can not get this race done this week, that it will be moved to the end of the season and become the final race in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.

NASCAR Managing Director of Corporate Communications Ramsey Poston confirmed: If the race can not be run this week, it will become the final race of the season and run during Thanksgiving weekend. "The Chase field is set based on completion of the first 26 events. The Chase is comprised of the final 10 races of the season, so if this race were not to be able to be completed this week, it will be moved to that week of Thanksgiving and would then become the final race of the season," Poston said.

I am sure we will have snow delays then!!!

RADAR - Brooklyn is in the lower right of the radar.
